Making Learning Stick
I’ve just completed a book study on Made to Stick by Chip Heath and Dan Heath which is a good read.
In the book Made to Stick, the Heath brothers share six key attributes: Simplicity, Unexpectedness, Concreteness, Credibility, Emotions, and Stories – SUCCESs for presenting content in such a way that others will remember it. Whether you work with students, teachers, community members or all of the above, these strategies can help you to more effectively share your ideas and core content for long term understanding.
I have embedded the videos for all of you to get a taste of it. It takes a while to load so please be patient.
Introduction and Simple

Unexpected and Concrete

Credible and Emotional

Stories & Conclusion

Dr. Bob Marzano, CUE 2009 Keynote, Part I
Dr. Marzano spoke at the CUE (Computer Using Teachers) Conference in March 2009. Here Dr. Robert Marzano addresses the question What do we know about the effect of technology on student achievement?
